Excellent! just what i wanted to hear Bobby
I've offered them up and it would seem caliper clearance isn't an issue so im pretty certain with the answers above i'll be ok :)
Next job - get the centre bore machined out :)
Thought that might be the case :)
Any ideas on caliper clearance? Im assuming that being ET20 they will be well clear of the caliper but never like to assume
Hi all
As per title really.. will they fit ok? Car isnt lowered or anything yet but i'll probably put some cooksports on at the same time.
Am i going to be suffering any arch scrapage? i'll probably run my 195 tyres so a little stretch, i know its not to everyones taste but each to their own...
Hate to bring up a old(ish) thread
But this thread had me in flocking tears!
I was searching for flocking services in sussex but this was better!
Not sure if this has been covered before and my search skills suck but is there any aftermarket HU's that are compatible with the standard CD changer in my PH1 172?
i currently have a Sony GT500 if that helps?
I'd too be interested in this!
Ive only heard the stealth k-tech before but only fitted to a 1.6, sounded pretty good but not too loud! i think the supersport is a touch louder though
Why would you want the hassle of a completly different engine when the f4r is so easy to turbo and probably be a better/easier to find than a decent 20vt anyway??
Dont get me wrong the 20vt is a damn good engine but good luck finding one for decent money thats not been hammered already!
TBH it does feel like the same issue i had with my 205 Mi16 and that turned out to be a worn TB and cable so i think thats what i'll do first. although im a little surprised the high idle didnt show up on the MOT, perhaps because its an intermitent thing i guess :/
Hi all
So its been a verrrrry long time since ive been on here but glad to have another Clio at long last :D
Anyway so i picked up my ph1 172 yesterday. Its nowhere near mint and could do with some paint work sortting but i have a few minor little niggles that i'd like to sort first
First off...
TBh it sounds more like your 'dogbone' or rear engine mount has had it.
Someone might correct me but both my old 1.2 and a friends 1.6 did this! sooo annoying! always.
Just remove the underlay from under yours then refit the carpet - job done :)
If you want to stop the road noise afterwards you may need to invest in some light weight sound deadening stuff, cant remember the name but its a paint on jobby IIRC
I've not been on here in a while, let alone owned a Clio for a good few years but this place never changes! :p
Maybe just maybe the OP might actually update a thread if he/she didn't think they were going to get b*tched and moaned at every time they post a thread to let the 'community' put some...
^^ not too bad then i suppose. my quote of £780 was with the missus on who is 21 with 2 years ncb (not that it counts)
you have to declare it for 5 but most insurance companies only will act on it upto 3 years from what i remember
yep im 25 end of jan so hopefully that will help too...
How?! im 24 with 3 years NCB and quotes on a 182 are about £780. Also points & claims expired this year.
You tired Bell, Admiral, Elephant ?
EDIT: Just noticed your location. You tried Chris Knott?
On topic for the OP though I'd have to say go the 1.2 or 1.4 route. My first car was a K plate...
tbh i cant stand the 200 front end and as said alot above the white makes it even worse!
The wheels are g***. Too chavy and just look wrong on a car that's meant to be a lot classier than some chavtastic Corsa!
Agreed.
I had an Mi16 205 a little while back and was a very capable car with 160bhp on tap. Was quicker than a c20XE a friend had but kept up with my brothers 197 apart from top end speed.
As said above it all depends on the condition of engine, type of tune and exactly how he is putting the...
my brother had one of these up untill recently also only had about 14k on the clock. was stunning. needless to say i had i out for a spin a few times and was very very impressed...
yep im currently looking for my next 205. will be in 1.6 8v form tho :)
looking nice by the way rory. love white 205's
used to have a 1.0 which i put a 1.4 xs engine in. that was the most fun ive had :)
