As said above 182s and 172s are the same insurance grp, the only one that isnt Grp 16 is the 172 Cup and this is because it doesnt have ABS so some companies dont insure them
If you dont have correct pressure, You are more likey to get punctures, your tyres will wear quicker, you will get less MPG.
As for hutchie running 24 PSI on the rear ..... yeh great idea.
Because on Track u generate alot more heat, therefore more pressure.
You can not generate this heat on the road. So therefore you need more PSI to start with.
A 172 Trophy Does NOT exist!
The only trophy is the 182 Trophy!
Some 182s were specced with recaros from the factory so they are about, but to pick a set of Recaro trendlines up second hand you are looking at 750 quid roughly.
Personally the recaro trendlines are not the best seats either...
PH1 172 - Chepest in range
Pros, Cable throttle, cheapest to buy, always seem to produce good power. Oz F1s
Cons, oldest cars, ugly interior imo, no Xenons, no cruise controls
Ph2 172.
Pros, Xenons, nice interior, later models have cruise control and ESP, nice selection of colours
Cons...
There isnt really many major engine problems, The cambelt service should be done at 72K or 5 years so make sure this is done if buying. If not done its about a 300-500 quid job depending where you go.
We have 2 172s and a 182 in our house no major issues with any of them because we keep them...
Well, you really want to be running 15s on track, this means tryes are a decent bit cheaper.
As for the Turinis, if you can get a hold of them cheap, buy them clean then up sell them on.
As for ruining wheels on track. You dont reall damage your wheels unless you hit big curbs ect, So buy some...
I run 32 front 30 rears with my exhaltos usually, my rears were slightly down 26ish and yesterday i picked up a nail on the right rear :( bad times.
Dont run them to low on the road else you will pick up puctures, you can not generate the same type of heat on the road as you can on track so you...
Personally dont like 182 wheels and i wouldnt swap turinis for them.
182 wheels also weight a ton :( Amd in matt black you wont notice the small details and imo thats the only thing that makes the 182 wheels ok.
Your turinis are worth more than the 182 wheels though.
Looks good Kev, always liked you projects.
Get your sell a LSD next though ;)
As for the ppl saying there are little gains, personally i think the gains Kev have seen are good. And knowing the work/money we have put in to our Track car Id be pleased with the results kev has seen. Our car went...
Yeh but there are other Cam profiles out there that will produce less BHP ect.
Tbh with Cams you are looking at +1K
By the sound of it you dont want to go to far IE, Cams/ITB, turbo ect.
So id go for, Matched inlet, A proper service, a decent panel filter. Nothing major, Depending on the...
200 In alien Green + blackspeedlines + cup spoiler, is the best combo. personally the anthercite front bumper insert looks terrible, and so do the factory wheels
TBH the 1*2's really need a 6th gear for motorways imo.
I drive 200miles on my journey home up the M1/A1 and sometimes get fed up of not having a 6th :(
Would be easier just to do a turbo conversion on your 172, dont thing there is a megane engined clio, due to the fact its a difficult conversion.
There is a Twingo somewhere with the 225 engine in though.
Tbh most of the ITB cars that end up getting sold are nearly always broken down and sold as parts, because they are worth more money like this.
I know if we were to sell ours it would be in parts.
A set of Monkeys :D Could re crop/make em B/w :P
Some of lovely Coventry ;)
Sure if you are more specific (spelling) Between the CS photographers something could be but together
