I would rather buy a 130k PH1 thats done all its miles on a motorway and has been serviced and cared for than one thats done 40k of town driving and hasn't been cared for. 130k is over the average miles for that year so I would have thought most of them would be motorway mileage.
That one is...
Yeah but ive replaced the aux kit now anyway so hopefully they made a good job of the cambelt!!!
I listened in the bay while by gf revs the car but i can't pinpoint where its coming from its so enclosed down there the sound could be rebounding off of anything!!
Well it shouldn't be the idler or tensioner pulley as they are brand new. What other bearings are there on the aux belt? Alternator and Aircon i assume?? anymore?
Will it be ok until the next service and ill just get Rentech to have a look when they service it??
Car is on 75,000. About 1500 miles ago I changed my AUX belt as the idler pulley was making a grinding noise. The previous owner had had the aux and cambelt & pulleys done at 45,000 at a well known clio tuner that is also known not to use the genuine aux belt kit hence no change in tensioner or...
In fact its me doing a typo it was the A419 I saw both cars. LY between the roundabout after where the road works are to the M4.
Blue 182 in the roadworks (40mph zone) all the way to Cirencester
Maybe I should start the thread again unless a mod wants to change the title!!!
Sounds like the top mounts to me. If the power steering is working correctly ie its doing its job correctly, not losing fluid etc. Then I wouldn't of thought the power steering pump was knackered.
Washer jets I would do yourself or if you want to save money for now just block the pipes off to...
Was in the same position just before christmas ie. Do I get a good PH1 or a higher mileage probably worse condition PH2.
I drove both and decided that although the PH2 has a nicer interior the PH1 was the more sensible choice.
Plus in my eyes the less there is to go wrong on a french car...
I used Royal Purple 75w90 was the biggest mistake I have made it made the gearbox clunky and it made the syncros stick in 3rd gear so I would get a grind on change. I swapped back to 75w80 and the box is like new again. Definately dont use 75w90 IMO!!!
We get taxed on the money we earn. Then with the money we earn we buy stuff which is taxed. We then pay road tax and petrol tax to run a car that we were taxed on when we brought it. We buy a house that is taxed. We then die and the f**kers charge our kids inheritance tax on all our belongings...
try etyres.co.uk Michilen Pilot Exaltos 2 can be had for £130 each fitted at home of work. They will provide so much more grip as they were as far as i'm aware developed for a clio sport. They will also last for ever on the rear. Its well worth spending extra on tyres as safty and handling is...
Ive tried oil on the alternator it made no difference maybe I havn't got it in the right place but seeing so many people have the same fault with no problems I think ill just leave it!!!
if they changed the tensioner then chances are they changed the idle pully as its part of the aux belt kit. Part would have been about £140 for aux belt kit??
It may be another bearing somewhere else whistling i'm also trying to find the one thats whistling on mine.
well usually if its a stone or piece of grit etc ..it will come out with some hard braking. It may not be that problem at all though just a guess from experiance.
