Agree about polishing, Riz, but Dave also uses crystal rock and other waxes... I see no reason to skimp on longevity and looks if the OP can afford it.
In that case, a pressure washer like a Karcher or Nilfisk, coupled with a bucket of water is your answer. Failing that, pressure wash down at a local garage and then ONR.
Glasur fits the bill for £100, Carbon for £50, Natty's Blue for £12.
What colour is your car?
In answer to the other points;
MFs - Eurow ones for the paint work, Costco cheap ones for arches and interior cleaning.
Wax - what do you want from the wax and what is your budget? Longevity, looks, ease of application etc?
AG tyre dressing is the same product as their vinyl dressing, just with different esthers so a different smell. It lasts for a week unless it rains. Then it really does last hours at the most.
Endurance slings if put on too thick.
Even if he doesn't buy, use, sell on. Minimal loss on waxes I've found. Sold my Glasur to a guy who enquired about my Clio at a show, years ago. Had it with me, sold it for £10 less than I paid and I'd used it a good few times.
Dave you should do a test if you have the sample pots. I'm sure James would be interested to see a thread on DW and on here, say 50:50 bonnet and two wings. That's four decent sized areas, say on a Panzer ;)
Can't go wrong with AF fella. Truly a fantastic brand - amazing how companies can still rewrite the industry market with such "ease".
Pretty sure RussZS swears by Desire - if so, that might as well be a "/closethread" on your decision making process :)
And completely agree on the wax versus...
The sheeting on Glasur is better, looks wise on my red it was better as well. There are many other waxes out there, like Vics. However, with Racing Blue I would be looking at a sealant personally. Werkstat kits work very well on flat blues, like the Carnauba kit. Circa £20 for the spray sealant...

This kit, but...
Iron x due to storage. The usual Tardis and claying.
Wax or sealant? I'm selling my Werkstat carnauba kit at the moment because I want to try other things, but it's hard to beat on reds
