ph1 has a slightly higher final drive ratio from memory. ratios in 172 ph2 and 182 are the same. Diff is bolt on in the 182's but that makes no difference. Not sure how much hastle the speed sensor or lack of is.

Never tried doing it myself. It required small coats of touch up layered over a few days really. i've never tried it myself as wet sanding scares me. Might try it on the 106 this summer. Just need to give it a few stone chips.lol
Stone chips can be done by a skilled detailer. Looks almost as good as a respray;
pouch up pen - wet sand flat - polish to shine. Looks mint. There is a thread on detailingworld on an old 318 coupe.

This is what I followed. Just be aware that the wiring colours are wrong. The black wire for the airbags is the earth, not the brown.
at the end of the day you're not going to go to the levels that polished bliss etc go to on a detail. They tend to do prestige cars and take 3-4days doing them (not hole days granted). The level of paint correction is amazing, but takes ages.

prise off the glass, and there are clips so you can remove just the covers. Use a screw driver to get the mirror out. It will be tight and if you break it it's all on you ;)
