Not sure about the 206gti TB11, EVO had some good words for the french car though!
"It has to be one of the best drives I have ever had in wales...one of the nimblest hot hatches around...Before long you find yourself traveling faster and faster. Without doubt this is one of the great icons...
Sorry to hear about that. I dont believe it is a write off though as I has siamler damage to a 6k fiesta and that wasnt written off. The only thing is if they need to replace the shell (as has been previously mentioned). When my scoob overturned  it drove as normal nut the shell needed...
Good reply and I cannot really comment as did not drive older hot hatches. I did have a 1994 v6 mx3, which was almost a cross between a coupe and a hatch! It handled brilliantly and hell............... a v6 rose tinted engine!!!!
Anyone else driven one?
I would be interested to hear your thoughts when you get the cup, send us a PM!
I am still not totally convinced that I made the right choice, but perhaps a set of F1s and some dryer roads will change my mind.
Just a thought and this mainly applies to the older hot hatches there 205, uno turbo etc..
Are these cars any good when compared to modern day equivalenst (looking at overall package) or are we just looking back through rose tinted specs?
Regards.........
LOL, I will bear that one in mind! Whilst being fully aware of the science I have always and probably without thinking poured boiling water over the golfs windscreen and never had a problem! It must be alot thicker than the cups!
Interesting that Renault think buyers dont want a proper cup version!
Did cup buyers really go all namby pamby asking for air con, abs and traction control they may as well just buy a std 172!
Having swapped an imprezza turbo (classic shape) for a cup I can say that the scoob felt better planted and more secure whilst cornering, with a 0-100 of 14.6 secs it is quite a bit quicker and the 4wd does lend itself to fast point to point stuff. The cup however is a lotta fun and Id always...
LOL it took me an hour to drive 1 mile today in the golf, was in a queue of traffic on a steep hill with handbrake on and car slid into car in front!
Despite the best efforst of my left foot and copious ABS engagement.
No damage though to me or other driver and to be fair to the lad he took...
Swelch, do you find they offer better grip when it comes to wheel spinning/torque steer? I am looking to replace my tyres with a set of the stickiest available to make most of fwd on cup?
Cheers

The cars above at Bedford are actually limited to 6000rpm for longetivity purposes. The proper cup race cars top out at 8000rpm and would put a lot more than 1.5 seconds into std road going cup. (source evo magazine)
Great that the cup beats an M3 hee hee:D
I think these cars look great and if being honest would love one!
In terms of performance EVO magazine managed to keep up with a cup in a frs on country roads but only just and through gritted teeth! Put em on a dry race track and am sure they will fly.
But for the money you can have a...
Seems a good price, my 03 cup was advertised (DEC 03) at 11995. I managed to haggle down to 10600 + 6 months tax so realy 10500! I was a cash buyer though and didnt have a px, this does help, sell it privatly!
I think 182 came out to compete with new pug 180 (although I hear they didnt need to bother!) and the new breed of 200bhp plus super hatches that are out and about.
