Can you not get the buckled one sorted? I hit a brick on a DC while doing 60mph last year and about 1/4 of my wheel was almost squared. A local engineering firm managed to straighten it out/refurb it for £40.
I have been driving on these for best part a week now and has made me realised how bad the shocks were on the car beforehand' standard ones that had done 80k. Best of all for me is that the annoyiong rattle/bump from the OS front of the car which has plagued me since I owned the car has gone. I...
Well got the fronts finished and set up yesterday. Bit of a bugger to get camber set up to run for a few weeks to allow them to bed in before getting them professionally done but think I've done ok with getting them both equal with a very slight touch of negative camber. Found out when removing...
Fitted one front strut and two rears tonight before I ran out of light, and shearing one of the rear bolts at bottom of the shocks. Helicoil time tomorrow!
Had a thought when I was doing the rear that seems feasable. Recon it would be ok to remove the rotating collar that is on the thread on...
Its not as if RS Clios are a rare car. I had mine done last year for £120 at local gargae, I supplied the belts and pulleys, asked them when booking if they had the correct locking tools, they went and checked came back through with them. 10k and one year later and I am very happy. Bargain...
I am going to hopefully get them fitted this weekend as well. Going to roughly set them up camber wise on my garage floor, let them, settle in over few weeks then get them professionally set up. Can't wait, never had coilovers before only aftermarket springs...
PS Would be really good if we could just have a thread about these coilovers, what they are like etc etc rather thna having another about what companys marking what up or selling what as what or not selling what as whaif you get my drift!! :)
I've also had these arrive this week and am planning on installing properly, have taken note to watch teh initial height on the front.
My second question is it normally the done thing to put copperslip or similar on teh threads of teh coilovers to sto them rusting/getting dirt in them to make...
I am having same issue and have pretty much checked everything. Having coilovers and solid top mounts fitted in next week or so will be interesting to see if that cures....
Mine did thi swhen one o fthe front brake caliper pistons was sticking slightly.
Could also be something as simple as tyre pressure different on both sides.
Only thing Ive cleaned a few times are the metal pedals. They are a nightmare for beng slippery after walking on snow/ice. My car mat is kinda frozen solid as well has been like resting my feet on a concrete floor.
