    Very happy with the Hankooks myself. Won't be changing when they wear out, and I've just ordered some Hankook track tyres as well.

    I don't agree. Having had plenty of suspension setups on the RS', I've found that the rear suspension set-up has a greater influence on the ride quality than the front, and given that the rear set-up of a cup'd 182 is nearly identical to a Trophy, there's hardly any difference. IMHO.

    Nail. Head. Everyone likes to laugh at the 'hypercar' nonsense, but a Vee is a match for most supercars in terms of low speed enjoyment and presence.

    Front antiroll bar would make ot more difficult to get the power down, and increase underrsteer. That's my understanding anyway. It was fred that helped test the rear arb, certainly doesn't cause odd behaviour lol

    Don't f**king but one then. Honestly, no one that's genuinely had a go in one will know within a 100yds how different they are to a 182. As if they had a bunch of pre painted shells lying about. And that wouldn't explain why they were originally going to be yellow, would it??

    I've owned every variant of the Clio rs's bar the 172 cup. For your uses, you can't beat a trophy then. The icing on the cake is that they hold value better than all other variants.

    The trophy is the best car I've driven on a difficult b road, end of. I prefer the standard 182cup setup for track as it's a bit more adjustable, and the softer front gets the power down easier. Trophy seats aren't low enough or supportive enough for track either.

    I assume the op's looking at buying one. Depends what you're using it for. If it's a road car pure and simple, it's the best 2l Clio there is. But if it's for a track car, a 182/182cup is a better starting point.

    With standard seats/belts you have a lot of freedom to move. Harnesses and buckets restrict this greatly, so if you roll, there's nowhere for you to go. All things considered I'm sticking with my reclining buckets and a cg lock.

    The megs good fun tbf. Not as responsive or agile as a 225, but still good. Mk5 golf gti is worth looking at. Faster is a straight line than a 197, not as agile but a great drive. Stunning cabin. Riz gets better mpg on the same journey in his than I do in the 172, 35mpg+. Will hold value better...

    How many of the options mentioned have people tried? I'd wager most haven't tried the hankook's. It's no exaggeration to say they are a class above the t1r's, for wet and dry performance. And longevity!

    Lol. Ali's quick, very quick I've been told (by those that know). I'd wager he'd muller most even if he had bought the Hyundai ;). I didn't enjoy driving a vee for a weekend, but loved being in it. Evo, autocar, all the usual informative mags love it, so I wouldn't call it s**t, more an aquired...

    I've run t1r's, exalto's, Goodyear f1's amongst others. The hankook v12evo are better IMO than all of them. I can pm you details of a tyre test done in germany, the v12 came 4th, the t1r came 20th.
