Interesting. I always thought generally imports where more to insure. My brother had loads of trouble trying to insure an imported DC2 and just couldnt find anyone to insure him, but then was fine with a UK spec

Of course if its in great condition then fine, but with no cup packs and being an import meaning more on insurance i'd be looking elsewhere. All in my opinion of course.
Just make sure that cambelts have been done and if its over 5 years old also the aux belt. Even better if both have been done at the same time. The belts have been known to cause major problems in the past if they snap so its important you check the service history, but other than that just the...
You will not feel any real world speed/acceleration difference between any standard 172/182
But, If its a stripped out road rocket/track **** you want to make your car into...I advise a 172cup
