Aren't the normal strips plastic? magnets wouldnt hold onto the plastic? or would they cover the strips and a bit of the door above and below? Good idea though, I hate parking at supermarkets for that exact reason.

when you knock it down to the auto setting they DO come on once, doesnt matter if its raining or not, then they wont come on again till it rains. Have you tried them in the rain? Post a picture of your stalk, (wiper stalk)
