No need for canbus bulbs. Paying extra for something you don't need
I've got loads of LED's from an eBay seller called partsulike, the item number of the ones I use are 330908390293 (can't link to it on work PC)
Right, it's going back on the dyno this afternoon. Same place as before, so a fair comparison.
Last run (4 weeks ago) it made 217bhp 242lb-ft torque. I'm predicting 280+bhp and 330lb-ft. I'll update later today
Yes he has std reflector headlights which are NOT suitable for HID bulbs. Fingers crossed the rozzers start to clamp down on the random fitting of HID bulbs, it's getting to be a bit of an epidemic! Everything from little Clio's to big old mercs seem to be running them at the minute. If you want...
Do you have projector style headlights? If not - please don't put the HID kit back in as it just blinds other road users. If you have got projectors then no problem!
But the first post says you've got a new one already? If that's faulty then get the supplier to replace it? How have you pin pointed it to the alternator if a multimeter is showing that it's charging etc?
Maybe it's time to get a mech/garage to look at it instead of blindly throwing money at it?
Not my sort of thing to be honest and i'm no traffic light racer. It's not really that kind of car and would struggle to get away quickly I think. I'm 31, and not really interested in traffic light gp's!
Of anything in particular? I can get various videos sorted, once the weather is better! It's currently pretty wet so next to useless! On the way home in it last night it decided to light the front wheels in 4th (it was dry at the time!) hence the trying to kell me!
Well, it's had it's map. It's got Shark Performances Stage 3 map on it now - which is good for 310bhp and 370lb-ft with the right mods. As i'm still running the std airbox and exhaust system (to keep the stealthiness) i'm not expecting it to be near those numbers but 280-290 and 340lb-ft i would...
Might be a stupid question, but why don't you just take the car back and drive it until the part arrives? If it's only a slight blow then it seems crazy to be in a 1.2!
My mrs has a DSG 1.2 tsi SE. The DSG box is lovely!
The power is great in these, for a such a small engined car. The MPG isn't all that great though, she's averaging about 40mpg but that's mainly due to the town driving she does.
Hmm, that's the first i've heard of the manifold being an issue. They seem to be good for 300 - 330 max on the standard turbo from what i've read on ST and Volvo forums, anything above that requires either the K16 from a Focus RS or some sort of hybrid.
I'll take a look into it though!
Its 100% invisible! I'll get a pic tomorrow.
Its being mapped next Monday, then I need to get it back on the rollers to see what increase it's had. I'm expecting it to make 280+ bhp and 330lb-ft but time will tell. The Airbox and exhaust will be my bottlenecks I think.
No, just fwd. there was an AWD version, but I don't think we got it in the uk.
managed to get the intercooler on yesterday!
it fits well, I just need to trim a little bit of bumper to get it perfect.
It depends what you read and who you trust to be honest. I've read they are identical, i've also read that the block was made very slightly narrower to fit the focus hence some issues with cracked cylinders in the ST's. Either way they are pretty much identical bar the ECU.
When I called in last Friday they called me £54. They did it there and then though, and i turned up unannounced!. I'll be up for a run when you go back, but I think I'll be back there sometime in April to check my progress.
To be honest it doens't make much more noise than standard. On cold start it is a little louder than normal, and you can certainly hear the turbo spool up when pushing on. But most of the time it's fairly quiet apart from the odd pop/crack from the exhaust and 5 cylinder burble.
It kinda sounds...
The pram in the boot wasn't the issue, the car seat in the back of an R27 is more of a problem. The recaros make it a little difficult from what I've read!
Yup, I can't find anything near that price for that age and mileage anywhere. That was from a trader too (he knew he'd priced it too low as whilst I was there he received multiple calls for it) I got there within a few hours of it being advertised, paid the asking price and drove away (quickly...
