I think the old C5 like old C1 was better. I still can't rate the new GT stuff as much. Too much f**king around between hydro performance and beading etc.
1 owner ek9 today. Will have a drive soon. Blew my mind. Stunning thing. I'll upload a pick tomorrow.
Full carbon GTR. Special car running a modest 700bhp. The carbon work is insane. Pics also tomorrow.
Just nonsense to rub a bumper and paint it properly in 2 hours.
First off to attain the proper quality of finish on a classic car the entire old paint finish needs removing. Then the bumper needs initial full prime bake and rub. Nice and flat. Then back in the booth for a second time for...
That's not true. Very rarely is hire car costs taken in to repair. Legally that's also impossible to inforce if a policyholder was to challenge it or contact the ombudsman.
If the recovery costs are £1000 or even £250 or £500 they cannot be added or affect the repair cost vs value.
Not sure why you went through your own insurance so quickly. Its almost an admission of 50/50 guilt, especially if they don't fancy chasing the other people.
Not even like the car was unroadworthy.
Also if this had been dealt with properly the other insurance company would pay you out and...
Flol at the EVO estimate. Reminds me of how mine look!
Nick and his Bro at SL really are the pinnacle in their game. Can't say it's that surprising, when people go to main dealers they pay what £65 an hour? £75 at VW maybe? It takes probably 5 hours minimum to do a rear bumper with zero...
It's always hard to trust a bodyshop. We just rectified a new Jag that a shop charged a grand to paint the front end... it was like something a child would do with a roller.
He went back to them and they told him that was the best they could do. Seriously horrendous stuff.
Are there any...
I think I would be okay with it. Make sure they are removing essentially all old paint from the front bumper for that price. Prevents easy chipping in future.
It's frustrating. Usually on decent cars aswell!
2003 car! It was actually worse than the picture suggests. The seatbelt point inside the car was a hole.

New wings, new sills and dog legs. Wouldn't call it F40 levels or restoration but upon stripping it required quite a bit of work.
The FRS one I post will give an idea of work we carry out on restorations.
Damn, forgot to mention the bumpers were not painted at the request of the owner as he wants them done at a later date and may have a new front bumper to use as he's not happy with the one on the car.
The roof was flattened and machine polished as there were zero rust issues or heavy scratches...
I know a lot are big fans of the E39, it looks so classic yet isn't even that old!
First up a big thanks to the owner for trusting us with the car, they're going up in value for the well looked after and lower mile ones. There was zero risk in spending a few quick getting this one up to...
