Trophy is so much better to drive. I've had 172's, a 182, Trophy, and the Trophy was better to drive in every respect. And the Recaro's are better than the standard seats.

Not being harsh, but you can't justify this. Take it on the chin, in the long term (if it changes your driving) this could be a good thing. If someone had been hurt (or killed) you'd be facing jail.

Be lucky to find a 172 that genuinely makes 172bhp.

They can (rarely) go off after the batteries been disconnected, don't take the risk for the sake of undoing one bolt!

The 50's I've used have felt like there's too much give in the sidewall/.

45's are worth the extra, espec with coilovers.

I did one yesterday. The red part may snap, but it'll still go back together after.

My opinion? Get a 172 on coilovers. I prefer the 172 for looks, don't like the 182 exhaust. For 90% of people, the handling is no different. A good 172 will be quicker than the average 182. And (bar RB), the best colour are 172 (monaco, flame red).

Have you checked the air con system?

If the seats have to come completely out, you'll need to disconnect the airbag cable, the red bit on the connector comes out first, then squeeze the connector to pull it apart. Don't forget to disconnect the battery -ve terminal first, for at least 15mins.

2 bolts by the sill, under the rubber bungs. 2 bolts next to the exhaust, helps if you have a long reach wrench, those 2 can be a ball ache. Have some wd40 ready just in case.
