I understand that the ST is a better car than the Clio but it's also 10 years newer and ten times more expensive. It's like me putting a thread on the ST forum saying that the ST is slow compared to my £100k 911 turbo. (Ok that's not the best example but you know what I mean).

Really? Belts done, suspension refresh and looks in pretty good nick? I know there are cheaper ones out there but I'd rather have one that's (on the face of it at least) sorted and appears well looked after.
