Went from a PH2 172 to a Trophy. Massive step up, far higher cornering speeds, better steering, more composure. I'm quite close to the OP (Harborne Birmingham), you're welcome to come have a look over the car and I'll take you out in it.

If a mod could sticky this, if we have a list of all the people with probs, gives us some ammo to use with the warranty dept. Or maybe a call to watchdog "My steering wheel melted, and my bonnet flew open!!!!!!!"

Thought if we could get a list together would make it lot easier to show it's a common problem, not fit for purpose, therby making warranty claims easier for everyone.

My wheel started to melt in the sunshine today, I know it's a fairly common problem, an I'm prepared for a fight with Renault. Could anyone thats had a similar issue post on here, so I can get a rough idea of numbers? Cheers Warren

Car looks great! Any reason for going fwd for a track car? Been thinking about getting a 2nd car for track, but maybe going rwd (Turbo MX5).

Just nice to have a car that doesn't need modifying to be spot on........

Reading the thread, absolutely gutting. This happened to a guy near me. He manages a Halfords, and threw some chavs out for shoplifting. They obviously followed him home after work, wakes up the next day to find his new CTR covered in paint stripper.

Not sure how to do that, as the wiring loom comes from near the airbag? Problem is the alpine leads are so chunky.

Yozza: Great build quality, great fit. I don't like the pipe design, and it's too loud for me. Prospeed are meant to be good, but a bit far for you (Cardiff). I'm going for a scorpion, supposed to be fairly subtle and looks well made. If you want a cheap alternative my blueflame will be up...

Stretch to 7.5k and your in Trophy country, more than worth the stretch.

182ff Vs 172, hadly anything in it 99% of the time. Same speed, pretty much the same handling (172 rides better, 182 slightly better handling) but 172's look better (no stupid exhaust).

I'd disagree, in my experience, both my 172's were quicker than my 182. IMO 172's look better as well, think they could of positioned the exhausts much better on the 182's.

Silver Turini's look wrong on RB. Refurb!

Not a fan. Don't like the wheels at all, and they can keep chucking power at them as much as they want, until they give them decent steering they just feel like driving a slightly lower golf.

Seen that before, lucky to get away with that.
