I think theres a small fan in there to pass the cabin air over the auto climate control temp sensor, warranty please! Its probably like my pc cpu fan, mine sounds like a strangled duck for about 30 secs when I power up if the rooms cold, might just be the cold weather.

Wasnt going fast at all, the kerb is about 1 inch high, think ill call the dealers in the new year, see what they can see.

Only a guess but maybe the oil was at such an angle that the low sensor triggered...

Sounds like the rear pads binding with the discs, nothing to worry about, mine does it too, my old GTI-6 used to do it too in the winter. :)

Ive just arrived home, turned full lock to get on the driveway as usual and heard an almighty metallic DONG noise come from my drivers side front suspension area. Got out and all seemed fine so went for another drive to check all was ok. My steering from left to right now seems to be less...

Theres a silver 172 Cup in the showroom at Arnold Clark Wigan (01942 225565) if anyones interested in one, not sure when it will be up for sale though. (must have only arrived there in the last week or so, not a spot of dirt on it). :D

My new 172 (5 days old) came with Contis fitted.

I got some nice black mats in mine, anchored to the main carpets, the rear one is an all-in-one mat that goes over the raised centre section. My luggage net was in a pack in the glovebox.
