True! I always say go and drive them. Whats right for one person isn't for the other. We can give our opinions all day, but until you drive them mate you won't know. Just don't ask a 197 owner, they'll tell you all 1*2's are s**t;)
Each to their own. I feel the 182 is the better handling car, more stable less roll. But the 172cup does feel quicker and lighter. Think no-one mentioned it as he didn't specifically ask about the cup.
Had 2 172's, 1 182. 182 has the better handling out of the box and looks better. Speed, nothing in it, my 1st 172 (mk2) was slightly quicker than my 182. I'd go for a 182, prices for cars with 40-50k miles aren't masssively different, and you can't get 172's in racing blue.

How to get the update done with Vista. Just did mine, but not V20, V15 from Nokia.
Typical balanced point of view. I'm pretty sure even the biggest fans (Autocar) have said it's unfair to compare the 197 to the Trophy, due to the development and special suspension on the Trophy. Nice informed, non-biased opinion there mate. The 197 may not be objectively slow, but even the...
Wasn't aimed at you bud, 'some' peops. You forgot "this (VXR) feels much quicker in a straight line". At the end of the day the VXR is quicker in the straight's, the clio is quicker through the corners. The 197 seems to be turning into a bit of a focus rs, in that the only 2 magazine's that I...
I just don't get why some 197 owners are so defensive? The negative points of the 197 (and every car has it's negatives) are what put me off it. Never disputed the handling and braking abilities, but the straight line shove should be better and the steering could be more feelsome (but TBF most...
