I don't think so . I used to have a 51 plate 172 , that had the temp sensor / temp and radio display on the dash the same as my 182 .

It should still show your time and temp even with the radio off . Maybe there's a break in the wire or there's a problem with the sensor itself . I wouldn't have a clue how to check that tbh .

It should be showing the temperature below the time , like in this pic . Like da rok says , they usually show some wierd random temp if there's a problem . I very much doubt it'll throw a fault code up though.

You'll need to get it sorted so you can refit a Cat cos it's highly unlikely it'll pass an MOT with the Decat .

They do make a bit of a whining sound. These engines are quite noisy as normal . Watching your video , there's no noise from your dephaser. You'll know when its on its way out as it's a very loud rattle .

1 round hole and 1 oval hole is normal . They can rattle and become loose . Try some thread locking compound on the nuts .

Seems like alot of faffing about to me . I just made a carboard template from the old pedals , cut some some new ones out from some 2.5mm aluminium sheet , drilled the holes and pop rivetted them on . Cost me a couple of quid :smile:

I don't know what you're problem is , it could be umpteen things . Without hearing / seeing what it's like it'll be pretty hard to diagnose from your description . As for doing 30mph in 5th gear , my 182 does that easily on the flat without feeling like it's going to stall.
