yep, but he paid the monies... and its over the other side of the country so i won't see it, his dads got a load of waggons so it may be alright....lol
not sure on raceland coilovers but i had vmaxx on the passat and they were fine for what i used that for,
have FK's on the 172, have we covered that the bolt pattern will be different?... otherwise i would switch them straight over and save for some KW's on the 172...
as for the steering...
Has the car started to be preped for paint yet?
yep probably over 2 months, then 50% of it was wrong...lol
i indeed do have the same fuel rail, really our cars will be so similar once completed, but then again so different in so many ways..
nah it hasn't been started yet, my friend has...
do many mk3 wheels come up?
sash offered me some 40mm apex springs but i did a search and i see your (just) springs lowered DCi wasn't great, i think i will hold out for some coilovers to come up....
collected my radical splitter over the weekend,
my 180 samco hose also turned up today, however with a 51 bore joiner.... ooops, better send it back to change it over....
you can keep the Sport xenon's, 172 rear and Sport interior, however i do fancy a new steering wheel as this has the general wear and melting on it....
I have gone through the documents and service book tonight and last night and it will shortly need a service so will probably get that done over...
thought i'd update this one last time...
the passat sold friday just gone, i had someone interested for a while but it was just organising everything. The new owner bought it blind going just by images and my good nature, it was a purchase for his 17 year old son who has just passed his text...
are you not familiar with my 172??? lol
i always planned to haggle the hell out of the owner and use the remains of the passat money to pay for wheels and suspension as the commute i will be on is pretty epic. however he didn't knock much off...
i don't want to play with this too much, its...
you see i like the fact its not silver or black.... something a bit different, but i will update with how life goes with it....
i checked on-line first (just on a comparison website) and it was giving me prices about £40 over what i was paying on my passat,
upon calling my brokers they said it...
thanks...lol
just got off the phone to the insurers and a bit shocked tbh, most want more money than my passat that had wheels, suspension and a full stereo system.... this is completely stock...lol
really nice and smooth to drive, this one seems in extremely good condition, i have changed from a 1.8 petrol (non-turbo) VW passat, its comfy enough and was getting 69mpg's on the way home... happy days
no pics yet, will get some up shortly.
thanks for the advice everyone, i noted...
interesting talk on the heated screen,
keeping an eye on this as thats the way i was going, then again mines not being built to race... well not in a series anyways
So after trying to sort out a viewing of the one in Totnes to only find out they are closed, it seems i am now off on a roadtrip to see the one in Leicester (see link above).
its instantly £200 cheaper than the other one and its a private seller so much more room for bartering than the other...
i also am quite a fan of the colour, didn't particularly want another silver car, but would be easier to re-sale i guess.
have done up a document comparing the 2 favorites and had another conversation with the garage in Totnes and that seems to make more sense in the long run, just a proper pain...
i got the call back about this one last night and it just didn't sound as appealing as the other 2 above, at the moment i think its between the silver one in totnes and the green one in leicestershire
i am awaiting call backs on:

88,000, Cambelt done last year (not documented but they checked with the last garage), stamped book but not full, MOT - january, Tax - few months, heater plug lights...
yeah it does sound pretty good, i wasn't keen on a black one but i may consider it, may try and get in contact with them to see if i can find out a bit more about it.
when you say the 1500, you mean this one -...
