I can't remember if its from a 172/182 but the block is the same. Only difference is the cam cover IIRC as the 172 breathes into the inlet.

If the noise disappears as the revs go past ~1700rpm, then its probably the dephaser that has gone. This is the pulley on the inlet cam. When they wear, they start to rattle. Its a new pulley and cambelt job, so around £600 at a specialist
