I loved my MK2 Golf GTI.
Started life as a 1.8 8v but i fitted a 2.0l 16V 9A engine out of a Corrado.
Also my 1970 1380 Mini, owned it for 8 years.
Started life as a Mini 1000 that had only done 13,000
12K later.
No matey, not untill the winters over.
Still not bought coilovers, dont see the point just yet.
Might sell up hough next year, as i have a scooby itch that needs scratching. But we will see if i fall back in love with it as i haven't driven it since September. :(

I sent the exhaust heat shilds away to be powder coated over a month ago as they where looking a little tired, got a phone call from them yesterday saying that my bits where ready for collection.

Hmm not to sure mate, its not just going to be a case of fitting the cams.
I want to take the head off and send it away to be ported along with fitting a set of Supertec valves.
I thought it might be best to do it over the christmas hols/in the winter weather before i want to use the car again...
I have 20mm front which is perfect.
I have 10mm -1 rear as im sure Harpenden had problem's with just 10mm rear.
Also depends on how low you want to run the car.
With the hard brake lines there wont be any movement in them.
But with braided lines I bet there is still some flex in them.
Id keep the steel brake lines and just replace the rubber hoses with Hel brake lines which have stainless steel ends.

I might drive up to Micks while im off and buy the BC racing coilover kit off of him.
AST's I think are over the top for my needs plus there's a wait.
I won't use the car in the bad weather though so being realistic I don't think it will be untill...
