HAHA! Well they aren't sure, I said to the chap in service if they can get me something else I'd be happier with as it's gutless. Get overtaken by wild life! Got mugged by a Daihatsu Copen <1L in it the other day. Emotional.
Chaps,
Some of you may of seen my thread regarding my 200. As it currently stands there was an issue with the clutch & flywheel which after the dealer blaimed on me has been found to be a factory fitment issue.
Ren UK are paying for this but the new issue is that the Flywheel is on back order...
You've kind of answered your own question there... The fact is they are a budget tyre which are never as good.
You tend to find how good your tyres are when you push them.
I haven't (touch wood) had any issues with my gearbox (2012). I think it often depends on how sympathetic the driver is.... But there is no doubting that it isn't the strongest of boxes.
Update:
This is being covered by the warranty in its entirety.
But unfortunatley the Flywheel is on back order and they don't have an ETA on when it's going to arrive :boring:
I am involved in warranties for a living and it's a good job as they also tried telling me I needed new brake pads (which were replaced last month).
Feel for those who don't have any knowledge to work with.
My 200 went in for a "squeeky clutch peddle" known fault apparently..
Anyway I recieved a call from the service dep explaining that apparently my clutch & fly are shot. Obviously I asked to inspect these parts as the car has only done 10k & isn't even a year old yet!
Having viewed them myself...
Mines been alright. I've done over 10k in mine & it's developed the squeeky slave which it's going in for in a few weeks. The guy I've dealth with @ Maidstone Renault has been good as gold.
My mrs's had a problem like this. She went along to renault and was looking at the new clio when she got her polo. She mentioned that I drive a 200 and the dealer told her she must have got it wrong because I couldn't afford it?
Sorry mate but this simply isn't true. I worked for them for 3 months when I lost my old job and needed something to tye me over. I ended up walking out from working for them. Yes they can source good quality parts i.e brembo etc but the research that goes in to that part isn't good at all from...
Mines cupped & fine on the motorways, I have driven it down to bath from Kent which is a few hours in one go and it's been fine. Mines had the silencers removed as well & still wasn't bad.
My commute is down b roads & country lanes which the 200 is perfect for. It does get pulled around a...
Had a spirited drive last night nothing out of the ordinary wasn't dragging the brakes etc etc.
Had a look this morning and find that both my fronts have heat spots through the center of the disc. I have checked the pads are moving freely & haven't noticed any judder. went through a new bedding...
