A question for ya Vinny .
How come when i put a pic on its always small and says " attached thumbnail "
When you put your pic on its alot bigger and doesn't say " attached thumbnail " ??
What am i doing wrong ,lol ?
You see the rubber gaitor , like a concertina , the cv joints inside there . Where its nearest to the abs ring ( the ring with teeth ) the gaitor is flat . There should be a metal clip holding it in place .
Like Vinny says , get some cv joint grease , pack it in and jubilee clip it . It...
CV joint boot , check to see if the metal clip has snapped . Both of mine did on my 172 and threw grease all over the wheels . I put some thick 8mm cable ties over the clips on my new 182 as soon as i got it just in case .
From that pic i can't even see a clip !
Nope . You get exactly the same 3 years warranty and 3 years AA assistance as a UK car unless its from Holland or destined for Cyprus .
All you do is phone Renault UK and they register it .
I'm on my second import , only standard equipment they didn't come with was the cobra alarm and locking wheel nuts .
When i sold my 172 i got more than some others were advertsied at on autotrader , same age ,similar mileage .Plus i paid £1500 less than Renault were selling em at new...
Same here . Don't know if its the shape of the car , water running down the back or what but mine can be pretty much clean on the front 3/4's and the back bumper , hatch and wheels arches are filthy.
Pmsl ^^^^
Who told ya that ? I'm on my second import and its the same to insure as a UK car . They are exactly the same car , made in the same factory . Only difference being , no locking wheel nuts ( big wow ) , no alarm ( get a better after market alarm with a lifetime warranty ) Renault...
Would be good if one of the guys in the know could put a list of all the things to buy with the pc porter kit , extra pads , sizes etc ..... best products to use and with which pads .
It would be much appreciated by us mere mortals only armed with microfibre cloths and megs applicator pads ;)
check out araditracker.com if porns your thing ! Heard that there is some good stuff on there , but being a good, clean living christian guy i wouldn't know myself ;)
On a ph 2 172 and 182 its 4.75 litres without changing the oil filter , with a new oil filter its 5.1 litres . Not sure if its the same for the ph 1 172 though ?
I'd put in about 4.75 litres and keep checking the dipstick .
Don't touch the larger nut in the middle . Your 4 wheel bolts go through the disc into the hub and attach it .
Rear discs are alot more expensive . Make sure they come with the wheel bearing already pressed in and the abs ring fitted .
Check out fubars guide on the rears ...
I wouldn't bother with the torque settings for the bolts . Just tighten them up really tight and put some loctite thread lock compound on the thread .
If your changing the discs i'd change the pads at the same time if they are worn and give the caliper a good clean . Undo the caliper guide...
Don't know what the problem is . But you haven't necessarily lost everything .
Sounds like more of a problem with windows itself rather than the hard drive . If you have a second ( master ) hard drive or a friend has one you can make the hard drive that is causing the problem the slave drive...
