Sounds sensor related, not hugely familiar with the 2L 16v lump in the clio's but my mate had a similar issue with his Fiesta & it was the cam sensor.

Easy way of checking for head gask problems is to check the Rad cap, if there is a porridge type "sh*te"" <<< TECHNICAL WORD on the cap then you could have a problem. Having said that, what the others have said is also true.

I plan to do the brakes & susp anyway, but that's all much of a muchness I feel, I.E the same with everything pretty much.. I wasn't thinking of going mad, perhaps Panel filter-exhaust-map, not a lot to be had from that set up then!?

Alright chums & "chummets", I have been told that the RS motors aren't the easiest nor the cheapest to tune. Just as a heads up, pound for pound what do you think the best engine mods are for the 172 cup & what kind of bhp & improvements would I be looking at with them without spend stupid...
