Corroded brake line probably refers to metal fixings, why didn't you ask the MOT tester to go through the advisories with you? They can go a bit rusty so not something to worry about unless its really bad. Braided lines aren't necessary if you don't track the car. I'd recommend Castrol...

The Liquid Yellow paint looks really flat as well, doesn't have the sparkle or shine it should have.
