Id refurb oem so you have the correct castor. Stick some powerflex bushes in and new balljoints. Paint or powdercoat finish. The bushes arent too bad to get out. Press, vice or burn the rubbers out and carefully cut the outer sleeve so it just needs a tap to knock it out.

Updates Had a good day on the hovercar yesterday as named by @SteveC_1879 :LOL: First job was to fit drivers side strut and hub. Then get stuck in and get the subframe off. Gear all over. Subframe area did not reveal any nasties. Can see people have been here before as the bolts werent...

Updates. Blue dci up to 174'500 miles so done 3k in 7 ish weeks. Been all over with work, it just cruises along with no complaints..ac working beaut in the heat, 69-70mpg all the time normal driving. Its looking well used/mucky and headlamps faded so yearly polish time, its dark season coming...

Thats the one @Touring_Rob i used a carbide burr and die grinder. I did find wet road use was skitty with so much camber @npt was a bit overkill. Fine for track if the tyre can handle it.

Managed an hr today. Built up the new drivers hub with new swivel bearing. The insert was reused as in ok condition. Quick lick of paint. Grease bolts fitted. These are a great bit of kit and make maintenance easy, The swivel bearings arent really sealed properly so the grease gets washed...

Cheers for sorting the cover out mate appreciated. I reckon these are the original suspension bits. Shocks seemed to work ok too but i couldnt fit new springs to them. Luckily its just bolt on rusty parts floorpan looks great.

Elongate the top bolt holes on the strut to suit negative camber required. I didnt even use camber bolts, used oem. Torque to spec and they wont budge a mm.

Work continues. Assume position. Oil leak fixed. Nice chemi metal bodge done by somebody in the past. New return fitted. Goodies started arriving last week. Cooksport springs, oem ren r26 front shocks, oem ren tie rods. Also have new drop links, new delphi trackrod ends, new lower arms etc not...

Yes whip the plates off wont make a difference. You could lower rear of subframe for access, undo steering column uj.

That will explain not needing to let any air out! I only needed to take a couple of psi out of o/s rear on both. I dont think the o/s rear was doing a lot.

New belts dont cause any vibration. Is engine misfiring? Id loosen off the top mount to bodyshell bolts, let it idle and settle into place then retorque.

Its very hard to diagnose stuff like this without looking, but personally id be looking at the top engine mount as its been off during cambelt swap, and look at lower dogbone and gearbox mount. No point in replacing the injectors unless its misfiring, run some injector cleaner. Id be careful...

I paid a small fortune for an oem meg header tank for the trophy..turned up in oem renault bag..looks like aftermarket. I feel your pain on this one!

I used a danger grinder back in the day not recommended as can only get in with guard off. Fingers off job!

Thats the same style expansion tank cap as the r5gtt had. Brown top was lower pressure iirc gtt used blue top.
