I think what Fred is saying if the cam belt is set to tight then it will pull the cams out of timing as it will be "over adjusted" i have just done my belts on my ph1 172 using the Renault tools.

Yes they did but then went onto say that they did not know which of the gearbox mounts i needed.

Can anyone please tell me the part numbers for the ph1 172 engine and the upper gearbox mount. I have called my Renault deailer but all they said was for me to pop in and have a look then they could order the parts.

Nope as they both have to be worked on, if it was a ph1 i would say to start with the RS lower as these are bigger.

Buy a Gates cam belt kit and a Renault aux drive belt kit and nothing else!

Just had mine done by Ben @Angelworks but it could do with a re-map, guess there won`t be time on the day.
