mine could be doing with a good clean and lub as its covered in shite but f**k puting effort into it when renault replace it for free, thats what i done on teh dci
driveshafts lol
tce probably uses one of the newer style boxes that the dci 100 had, could probably use they shafts if the standard ones didnt fit, either that or use a jb1 1.2 16v box on the tce bottom end if it fits (if it doesnt you could make it with a bit of work)
given it looks in pretty mint condition other than the belts id pay max £3500 for that as your going to be spending £600+ if you go to a dealer as soon as you get it. people cant ask top money for a car that needs that done!
id like to do it for something to do if i had a spare car kicking about!, its a good way to gain yourself over 50hp!! infact if you can do the labour urself its probably one of the most cost effective mods you can do to a clio lol!!!
also lets be honest who declairs engine conversions!!
clean the throttle body on it, its free to do so a good place to start, after that id be looking at coil pack, leads and lambda, but really you need to get it plugged in first!
true story that! came off a roundabout at 30mph in 3rd and sank the boot as he pulled out to overtake me, he pulled back in as we were doing 90 odd mph in 5th gear! that look on his face at the services was brilliant just after he cracked the joke that his lightweight model was a good bit faster...
had mine out for the first time in 6 months the other day, going into the bodyshop soon for a full front end respray, forgot how fast it was after 6 months of rolling the DCi!
that genuinely is the same pace as my old 1.2 16v was!!, my first thing to check if it was mine would be cam timing, i guarantee its out!! not much else out there would cause quite that lack of performance.
