It's entirely possible they changed the design to stop it from breaking. When I put new cables on my Megane they were slightly different but were beefed up to stop them from breaking Let us know how they get on fitting the cables 👍🏻

The balls on the selector arm for the gearbox very rarely wear it's usually the cable I cable tied the selector on my Megane which worked for a while I til I could replace the cable
