why was my above post removed telling him he would need a custom exhaust to use a 182 bumper? i assumed he thought he could use the k-tec 182 replica exhaust which he cant but yet my post is removed?
was late 02 or early 03 plate it happened i think, my 2002 02 plate didnt buzz just flashed but my 03 plate buzzes and flashes.
it cant be turned off afaik
182 non cup and cup dampers have different bolt spacing. so you cant use cup dampers on a non cup 182.
172 cup front dampers have the same bolt spacing as non cup.
on a not so good point after the hard testdrive i gave the car the exhaust fell off on the drive way haha was fine when i pulled...
i thought it was dodgey untill the last bit about his location then i started to have doubts but not 100% sure to be honest, id reply asking for his number to talk further and take it from there.
ive got brembo max front disks and they are impressive, Using green stuff pads (a lot here dont like them) but i dont do that many track days, 1 or 2 a year so they are fine, a bit better than standard but dont give out half as much dust as standard (which is the main reason i went for them, how...
my local place charges £10 a corner plus £1 disposal of ur old tyres if you supply them which is quite expensive but think thats just because im supplying my own.
ok guys just fitted a set of 172 cup rear dampers to it, now before i say what i think about it keep in mind i was driving a 172 with a screwed rear damper and a completely screwed rear damper lol!!
the difference is night and day to what it is before, but also feels much better than it did...
as has already been pointed out sports cats are only worth while on 172's (but even at that id get a decat :p)
the 182 runs a really free flowing cat anyway so not really any gain to be had by having one.
yeah i know they are much cheaper, i cant see why it wont fit but you never know. not really worth the high cost of a 182 manifold plus custom centre section if needed for the small gain over a 172 manifold though!
yes, the problem with the relocation kit is the inlet tract is too long so it looses torque, not a problem with a filter bolted on to the manifold/throttle body, but heatsoak then becomes a problem so a design like you posted above is better.
bigger gains to be had on a turbo car but yeah it will make a difference on a 172.
id go for decat and swap it over at mot time but thats just me, if you would rather fit it and leave it go for a sportscat
a pannel filters a pannel filter to be honest on these cars as its not like they flow massive ammounts of air anyway.
dont bother with ITG for it (ive got one in my 172 but doubt i could tell a difference between it or a pipercross or k&n etc)
just go for a pipercross thats what i had in...
thats what i like to see some good old fasioned DIY!!!
is it possible to use a 182 manifold or is it too long unless you make a full new centre section?
i dont 40k without the pannel as i lost it when i had the relocation kit lol never had a problem. my alternator was a bit coroded but ok other than that lol
on the other hand the relocation kit will lose you torque, even more than you would loose on a normal open induction kit.
might not...
hehe its always the same as soon as its in and your used to power ull kick yourself for not doing headwork!
should be awesome when its running mate, what you doing exhaust wise?
