one of these vs airbox and ITG, whats the views? not that fussed on power gains just dont want power losses, looks like it could be pretty good at preventing heat soak but not 100%

im on my 2nd 2002 02 plate 1.2 16v Dynamique in black 2003 03 plate 2.0 16v 172 in silver probably have a few more!

i went to look at one, bought a 172 instead tho lol half the price and much quicker.

go to parts dept at renault they'll change it for you but its easy just get a house key or something like that and stick it thru the loop on the key and use it to lever the cover off, switch battery and slide it back on, job done.

gearboxes are apparently a bit shoody, better with a dci80 imo, and if needed remap it to over dci100 power. afaik its just a dci80 with a different turbo? and possibly injectors?

Re: eibatchs pics please ive been the coilovered route and to be honest would only do it for looks, yeah the car handled fukin awesome but not a million times better than my sportline'd 172 which feels just a bit to soft but it doesnt let go. think ill get a set of koni adjustables for this...

dealers are 100x better in my experiance than renault, my 172 came from a toyota dealer, granted i payed for the privillage of the service, but never had service like it! even arnold clark toyota are awesome! never raced one in the 172 but my mate had one when i had the 1.2 and i used to reel...

i like they GSi's actually especially in that fancy blue colour, its the wheels i like the most actually, sets them off well! never saw a standard one go but heard one with a mental exhaust and dump valve scream past me sounded good n looked quick!

i had twin 3" round like most people did at the time! looked awesome no pics to hand tho on this computer!

my mates got a 1.6 16v megane coupe (same engine) and i was surprized how quick it was! even compaired to my 172

i drove my coilovered one for the last time 2 weeks ago before it went, it was so slow but a hoot to drive! never smiled so much going down a backroad. it had the old smashed out cat jobbie too coz i couldnt find a decat for it lol then took 172 a run n shouted "oh ya b*****d" when i floored...

only got a wee look at her but from what i saw i wudnt have pumped her

ive got 8 months warrenty left on my 172 :) already had a full new exhaust from them lol

i miss my 1.2 dynamique but its just because it was modded the way i wanted it, now that im starting to get the 172 the way i want it im enjoying it and starting to forget how awesome coilovers are!

cant see them doing much being bolted in by self tappers, i welded my old 1 in lol, not welding anything onto the 172 tho!

i ran over a fat b*****d of a cat in my old 1.2 with the coilovers set to their stiffest setting the fuking thing went up on 2 wheels! was not a nice feeling! also came flying round a bend once to hear my mate scream "famous grouse" and my splitter de'headed the poor thing, i thought you could...

kinda in between falkirk and stirling mate, not had the 172 at a meet yet, need to get it along to one soon. had the old 1.2 at a couple!

cheers mate, not got much money to spend on it being only 18 with the price of running it! so far its got the sportlines, cup splitter, civic type R ariel, osram diadem indicator bulbs up front, standard uk plates from fancy plates.co.uk (look much cleaner stuck on rather than the screwed on...

you can clean any foam/cotton filter though with a filter cleaning kit? just your kit came supplyed with one eather that or you bought it?

imo a hot hatch is when a manufacturer takes its economical non performance car (clio, corsa, saxo, 106, starlet, 205 etc) and develops it to handle well and sticks a resonably powerfull engine in it (something thats MUCH MUCH more powerful than that cars ever going to need for the purpose it...

i like this idea!

if you floor it off the lights in the wet then its going to cut in, i find in the dry tho it cuts in when it really shouldnt when launching and you get a better start if its off. i only use it for when im not driving hard and something catches me out such as surface water etc
