Disconnect the battery, screwdriver on the airbag clips on the rear of the steering wheel to lever them over the plates then a torx bolt holding the steering wheel on.

I know what you mean :) but me and my car history have never been OEM friendly! Everything I've done to the car can easily be put back to OEM if I wished though. I just don't wish... maybe in a few years ;)

Do you have a photo of where it sits? They all sit at the very top of the half way marker rather than in the middle of it.

You need to take the pad out of the caliper and refit it with the pins inside. If it was done at a garage I'd be taking it back and getting them to do it straight away.
