    Keep them in a warm, dry place and lubricate them... as you say WD40 or engine oil would be ideal.

    A normal spanner should fit in to grip the nut... That's what I've used before.

    No local shops stock 10w40, It's not really an uncommon grade?! Should be fine though.

    Safe to drive with a faulty injector?

    When you say faulty... What is wrong with it? Normally if you have a damaged / down injector the car will go into limp mode and be pretty much undrivable.

    Any brake set up can be fitted with a little know-how and engineering. yes, 172 callipers do fit under 15" wheels.
