My 172 was only £800 to insure, when I was 19yrs old with;
2yrs NCB
SP30 speeding offence
2 none fault accidents
modifactions etc. all declared
admittedly this was 4years ago and prices where cheaper a little cheaper, but not by that much...
Collins Performance Engineering / Mongoose brought the rights to produce and sell 'Magnex' branded products... but yes, quality is not what it used to be.
I am going to destroy the both of you on that evening, the ladies will not get a look in.

Tricky situation Neil.. It would be a real shame to see the car bring broken, especially after all the memories, time, money poured into it :(
Is their no family members, friends with a garage or unit etc. where you could store the car for free?
At Donnington you can pretty much walk around the whole circuit, plenty of good places for photos as most sections don't have high fences in the way etc.
