Our 2013 family five door Nissan Qashqai has maybe two isofix bases that fit, we bought the maxi cosi pebble iirc. The anchor point is down by the seat belt stalk. So not ‘conventional’.

Doesn’t look that bad, but would look much better without, imo. Removing it, no idea. Might be worth searching for ideas or ringing a local place to get a quote on removing it. If the latter is reasonable I’d personally pay a pro.

Yeah we got a nuna pram, lightweight and easy. Just make sure whatever car seat and isofix base you buy fits the car. We had to swap the nuna seat and base because it didn’t fit. I know, we should have checked.
