Ah ok thought I read the dephaser being a problem. Timing belt 'could' include the dephaser mate. Is there a way you can check? But yeah when it gets warm is the way you can tell. Diesel type noise.

Welcome mate. Sadly if the dephaser is on its way out (should be changed with the belts) it's another belt job! :( Any pics of the car, flame red is an awesome colour :)
