I got caught speeding in France near Nantes on sunday morning. Was tanking it along as I was late for the ferry and still a good 8 hours away from Calais. I set off 3 speed cameras that morning, in france you can pretty much ignore them if you have english plates as they never pursue them. I was...
Dont listen to the cloning messages above, they will only lead you down the path of needing to download loads of drivers.
Use either "files and settings transfer wizard" which is the easiest way found in start - all progs - accessories- system tools.
Or copy your profile which means...
Its a bit confuding on their website, theyve got the old and new address on different pages.
Its the address fred gave, its the first left all the way down the end next to HKS.
Slide the cover off in the direction of the arrow , its a bit tough but does slide. Make sure the rubber bits inside are fitted snuggly to keep moisture out.
top tip: get a load of tissues under the filter before you remove it. it will leak a bit of oil as you remove it.
You shouldnt need anything apart from your hands to unscrew the filter. When you put the new one in just tighten it by hand.
If it is the coil its really easy to change and diagnose yourself. The coil pack on my '51 172 comes as one unit, dont know if the people above saying there is 4 separate ones have a different model.
You wont be able to do any of this unless you have plastic plyers or non conductive ones...
If you have AA cover they can come out and plug their diagnostics into the car and read the fault. Its cheaper than renault so worth a shot.
I had the same sort of problem, was getting the same warning light( although mine didnt cut out), so called the AA. They came out diagnosed it as a...
Have you tried driving steadily at 70mph and then reseting the trip computer. it takes a few seconds for it to start reading but then should average out after 5 mins.
What do you get if you try this
When the cambelt fails, is this through wear usually, and is there anything that contributes to it failing quicker.
My cam belt was changed at 80k and 6 years, remember driving round that last year before getting it changed feeling well paranoid, but the trusty 172 never let me down.
Its definately low on brake fluid, I used to get the same thing on massive clock wise sweeps.
Take the engine cover off and look at the back left for brake reservior. Youll notice its a right pain to get to,id use a funnel for pouring it in.
About a month back my 172 would do the same thing when stopping at traffic lights. It happened 6/7 times in that week but the problem went away and I havent thought about it since. At the time I put it down to stalling it by not getting the clutch down before the car had stopped, but it happened...
Ive been to all the renaults within 50 miles of oxford and they are all as bad as each other. Kiddlington are the most expensive and poor service. I would try Abingdon if it had to be a renault dealer. If its a cambelt service take it somewhere decent like GDI near northampton where it costs...
That looks great. was thinking of doing something like this myself.
thought about a formula 1 rear alloy then round glass table top.

remove the engine cover, and at the back you should see the coil pack with 4 cables coming from it. Turn the engine on and using some plastic plyers (important) unplug each of the 4 cables, look for one where there is no spark. If you find one without a spark youll need a replacement coil pack...
Id also like to know what tips people can give for going round the "Renault Sport" lettering as wet and dry paper doesnt work. Would a dremel with a fine tip be best or is it possible to mill round the letters.
Just thought of something. When you have to put the cat back on for the MOT, does it have to go in its original position.
Would it not be possible to use heat tape or something to join it to the end of the exhaust. The MOT bloke could then stick the tester rod in the cat and should get the...
Grey devil industries do the rear hub/bearing/disk as a package for £120, but as said above you might only need to do the pads. My 172 is on 74K and im still on the original rear disks. been through 3 sets of disks at the front in that time.
Looks and sounds pretty nice. Called them up and they havent quite finished the development, and said it would be mid march before they will be for sale.
Thats really unlucky, you probably wont have another puncture for years now.
Thats a cracking deal on the PE2's id bite their arm off for that if i needed 4 tyres.
