I dont know anything about them but, as youve got the cover off, if youve got one of those cheap volt/amp meters, hook it onto the wires going into the lock to see if its getting electricity when you push the keyfob. I imagine there may be 2 wires or more so you may need to try a few...
Im always going up and down the A404, but im in a black 172 '51.
Be super carefull on the A404, Its the only place ive been caught speeding, got done for 97 in a 70. I still dont know where the camera van was hidden and im always looking out for odd vans etc. Wasnt too bad as I only got 3...
Thats the thing with these new audi's, you look in the rear view mirror and you think youve got an S4 on your tail cause you see the little red badge on the grill. Then you realise its just a TDI with a stick on badge. Audi should stop putting those badges on anything but S cars.
There was a demo of it in some magazine months ago. It really isnt that good, infact i couldnt take more than an hour of it. The graphics are poor, its all typing based. Why they didnt use the headset for communication is anyones guess. Id avoid it.
Surely they removed the data before selling it to you. Best way forward is to rebuild it with a fresh operating system.
Lophtcrack isnt really what you want anyway, unless you are after other peoples passwords, if you just want to have a looksee at the data you are better off using...
4 feet is correct, bought some sheets of mdf from Wickes that only just went in.
Dont forget the back seat flips up (which you can remove) and you thenlower the back rest after.
Im going away on Monday, going to be driving round france so thought id change the oil.
I didnt have any problems initially, oil drained fine apart from dripping all over the under tray, got the fuel rail cover off, filter was a breeze to get off and replace. I did all this on a level...
Much easier getting a new one to be honest. When you take out the ITG you will see how nasty the oil is, its like tree sap. Use disposable gloves when taking it out and have a plastic bag or something to hand to chuck it in.
Cleaning it is a pain, youve got to leave it soaking in petrol and...
You might need to download a 3rd party dos box . do a search for Dos box on google and download it. this emulates old stylee dos and allows loads of old games to work that dont on XP.
You just need to top up with brake fluid. Get yourself a funnel though as i made a right mess trying to pour the fluid in 50cms above the 3cm hole, it splattered on the furry bulkhead. its at the back left, you may need to remove engine cover.
Try this then:-
get yourself up to 70mph according to the needle and stay there at that speed, push the stalk button till it tells you the average speed in mph. push the reset button on the dashboard next to the dials. Keep the car at a steady speed and see if the average speed is higher or...
Prevent it by mac filtering.
Most access points allow you to filter MAC addresses, every wireless card should have this written on the back of it, then enter it into the AP.
Its possible to get the WEP key by sniffing traffic and using programs to get the key. Get over to...
I only get the 4 dashes when the car has less than 40 miles worth of petrol left, or when the red fuel light comes on. Sounds like you might need to reset the ecu. The sensors are obviously fine because the other read outs work its just not calculating the miles left. Do a search on reseting but...
It should definately give you a reading after 30 seconds or so. Do the other trip computer things work.
My oil OK message has stopped coming up, whats that about ^
^^what he said.
I find occasionally my 51 plate 172 wont start if ive reversed it out of the garage then turned it off to go get my work bag etc. 5 minutes later when im trying to start it again it just dies after 1 second, wait a minute then try it again and its fine.
bet thats a relief. I had exactly the same noise last week and like you it turned out to be something that had unclipped itself.
edit -same post count as me too. lol.
Looks great ! good price too.
Only thing i picked up on was this bit
"Details
-The obligatory belts have been changed"
I suspect this doesnt include the cambelt which is needed after 5 years or 72k . This can be costly to do and will cost you round about £500 including the 72k service.
You can sleep in the car but you cant drive a house !
But seriously, Youd save loads in insurance and maintenance on the car if you sold up and got a banger to runa around in for the year or two.
