They look good for your first attempt mate. What lens did you end up shooting with? I managed to get one of the milky way on Saturday, wasn't great and had to bring it out a bit in light room but you could see it fairly clearly with the naked eye which was surprising in November.

If it's crop it only works on then you won't be able to use it with an XD camera (apart from the 7D) The XX and XXX ranges are all crop so should be fine. What are you planning on upgrading to?

I've got an old Vivitar 28mm f2.8 that I use now and again. Think I only paid around 20 for it and probably 20 for the Canon fitment adapter. Should start using it more as it's a fairy good lens. Will also look at some other Vivitar ones too I think maybe some wider ones if I can get them...

I think at one point, Lumix was the go to camera for point and shoot but there has been a lot of advances and from what I've seen, Lumix haven't kept up. As Niall says, wait for Brazo as he shoots Sony and he gets some superb images from them.

Try Amazon for the 50mm, I'm sure I had an email from them about a lens sale and it was one of the featured lenses. Think it was £70 new.

Still soft on the focus. Remember to use manual. Auto focus on the dark is useless. And use the live view (zoomed in) to get the focus sharp. Also, the white balance looks odd. Too blue. DanJenks - read the stickies on here for a guide on star trials and have a look on Flickr too.

Was that one long exposure or did you stack in the end? Can't see the exif data on my phone for some reason. One thing I would say though, it looks like it is soft on focus on the pylon and the stars. Might be down to me being on my phone or it could have been a knocked tripod or focus dial.

Could be actually, I hadn't thought about them warming the tires and the safety car going straight which would explain the focus...

Have a look on Flickr at some of the exif info of shots you like/would like to try. That's what I'll be doing this year as last year's attempts were (s)hit and miss

You done one exposure of 30 minutes? What settings were you using and on what camera? I don't know anyone that does it that way, I imagine due to the risk of not have having a shot come out and wasting 30 minutes on it, when you could have got 60 good 30 second exposures. Look forward to...

If they can put a 3000 battery in the new LG then thats the minimum they should be putting in the Nexus IMO

I just don't get why they wouldn't out a better battery in. If needs be, charge a bit more for the device. If they can do it with the LG then they should be able to at least match the battery with the new Nexus device as I imagine they will sell more units that have the Nexus name to it rather...

What I posted was sent to me by a mate. He usually get info that's pretty spot on with regards to specs, looks etc. Not sure where he gets it from though.

Without reading anything on that link, I imagine they will continue to make games for current gen consoles. They only stopped making games for the PS2 last year iirc. If they stop making them now for current gen then they are making a massive mistake as I imagine only about 40% of owners...
