Have you checked you battery recently? You'd be surprised how many of the Clio's electrical faults are caused by a low battery charge.

Stick a butter knife, credit card or something else flat and rigid under the plastic and work it away from the door, then pull it towards you and unhook the wire that opens the door, that's how it works on a mk2, I can't see a mk3 being any different.
