Took it for a long drive this weekend, loving the itbs! Needs a new throttle cable though.
Gave it a wash and then moved the wife's garden lights around a bit for a nighttime shot.
This evening I fitted some Magnat xcentric components up front and FLI coaxs in the rear. Tunes + itbs makes for...
Dan is cheaper than Bogg brothers, he also makes velocity stacks for them.
You can get a good set zx6(38mm butterfly) or zx9(40mm butterfly) carbs for around £40. A manifold is £140 from Dan. Filters are £30. Megajolt is around £180 and if you want a loom making I know someone who does them in...
1 degree of camber is roughly 1mm at the hub flange. But I don't think it's quite 5mm at the tyre. It's more like 2.5-3mm.
Also I wouldn't run more than 2 degrees really. You might find one side is different to the other too so you may not want to fit camber spacers but get flat ones with...
I'd get Dan at danstengineering to make a manifold and run kwak ZX9 carbs with a TPS. I ran ZX6 carbs on my last car and they were great. Easy to start, but you need a manual choke. Very economical and gave good power and torque. They use vacuum for the sliders so they drive much better than...
It depends on what profile tyres you run, 195 or 205. 195 you can do 15mm but 205 you need 10mm IMO.
Also it depends how much camber you have already. Have you had it measured?
You won't be able to mot it. But if it's track only and you're going to trailer it that's fine.
You'll need a different fuel pump, megajolt or nodiz ecu, and some 45s (either Dellorto dhla or Weber dcoe) along with a manifold, linkage etc.
More pistons generally means a greater pad area. Then you're onto what compounds to use...
So if the 4 pots and single pot callipers have the same pad area and compound but the 4 pots are running bigger discs then dependant on the compound they could be equally s**t!
You might find that the 4...
Whoever said carbs will give you more is very wrong.
I've had bike carbs before, they're great. But bodies are the next level.
You probably won't be able to mot it either due to emissions.
Re: Ph1 172
Driving normally it's quieter than the induction kit I had believe it or not! On full chat it roars like a goodun!
Tempted to decat it once the mot is done for a bit more exhaust noise as the exhaust isn't very loud. Although the wife might have something to say about that, she...
Re: Ph1 172
Done the graph overlays so you can see the before and after, the standard inlet give a big peak in the midrange so I'm losing out around 4500 and 5000 but above that I'm gaining quite a bit. I can feel it too, it doesn't have the kick it had at 4.5k but it feels much quicker overall...
Re: Ph1 172
Yes, it's making the figures it should :) and more importantly, compression is all good and the injector is sorted. Ready to go for this year now!
Good, I need to do a stronger return spring, so the revs drop quicker but other than that it's great. Definitely quicker than it was...
Re: Ph1 172
Previous power was 152 at the wheels (dyno dynamics corrected it to 184 at the fly). It is now 171 at the wheels, so using the same factor for losses that's 207 at the fly.
I'm going to overlay graphs later :)
Re: Ph1 172
From 2001 on. It depends on the model. Only thing worth noting is the spigot is 64mm so will need a ring knocking up. Otherwise they have a height of 44mm like the Clio discs and are 4x100
Re: Ph1 172
Went in for mapping this morning but injector number 1 was knackered so ECP came to the rescue with a new one and mapping is going to start soon. Did a leakdown test and all was well so fingers crossed now for some decent numbers!
