I'd be more worried about the V6 driver buying his coils from Peugeot.

Might give it a go on my Megane which is also noisy. Have to work out how to drain the fluid first though!

I want this car so much :( and for £2.5k its a bargain too.

I have removed everything behind the front seats in mine (Megane though, not a Clio) and quite like it. I don't have a loud exhaust so the noise is bearable and have only noticed an improvement in handling but then again I do have new (lower) springs, dampers, wishbones and tyres.
