Could you do it with trade plates?

I'm going to order a VW rad and slimline fan this weekend and I've already got a fan switch blank in case the rad doesn't come with one. The current fan has two plus on it, one for the motor and one on the shroud. When I wire the new fan in will I just need the motor wiring and not the one...

It's not dangerous. And it'll make a little more power as it is.

Re: Ph1 172 It's the most likely. With me keeping it N/A the best solution for the most torque is ITBs. I would want it to run like standard though. No cold start issues, nice idle, start first turn of the key.

Where is the fan switch on a Ph1 172? I thought it would be in the radiator but it's blanked off.

Decat would be much louder

As a better all round tyre I much prefer the Dunlop Bluresponse, very good tyre.

It'll look great a few mm lower. Vids when you've got the decat on please!

For my Ph1 I went Quaife with the 4.07 final drive rather than the 3.89. Gearing is pretty good, just needs ITBs now. Something like a 4.27 would be perfect imo.

I thought the 200 exhaust was pretty good and you could benefit from doing a y-pipe and sports cat?

Both as standard I'd have the DC5. I'd only consider the Mk3 Clio if it had boost and a diff.

Get some camber bolts on there and get the camber up to max.

They seem to get good reviews, but for 15" they only do a 195 profile not a 205 :(

I went for them as its cheaper than losing a valve head.

Take and average of the max power and torque figures and it's 184bhp and 173lbft. That's exactly the same mine is putting out with ITG filter, ported head, matches inlets, Piper cams, 182 manifold and sports cat. So very good figures if they're accurate :)

Which is correct 1035 or 1059kg?

Re: Ph1 172 Believe it not I weighed in a powdercoated cup subframe...whoops! Swapping to a ph2 subframe would lose caster though wouldn't it? I can get 3.2 from the camber bolts and ASTs. Should be better than the 1.8 I've got.

I mentioned this earlier on but the reply was this doesn't work... As you make the oil thinner you reduce the pressure by making it less resitant to flowing. So if you increase the hot viscosity you can increase the pressure. You don't necessarily need a 60 weight oil, a 50 might do but you...

I've got the billet flywheel on mine, I think its great. Revs up better, slows down quicker and the gear changes seem slicker. My mate had a drive of it on the last track day we did and he commented on how much of a difference its made.
