Oh right is that why most manufactures are heading towards smaller engines with turbo's and/or super chargers then?
So you call that great evolution when I can happily see 35-45mpg on my 172 (depending on type of journey).
The only thing I can see the diffuser doing is reducing the drag...
A lot of front wheel cars have the rear spoilers to give the air a smoother flow off the back which can help with stability rather than give it down force. It can also help improve economy due to having less drag.
Iirc they had to add spoilers to the back window surrounds on the mk1 Sierra...
How the hell did you see below 20mpg on the roads. I reset mine the other week and went for a "good":o 60 mile thrash on the open moors and got it down to 23.8.
On the other hand coming back through France and back up north (600 mile trip) got 38mpg doing a steady 80-90 most of the way. I was...
True, think I will give it a bash:). Just hope I'm not disappointed with the results:dapprove:

Get it worst comes to worst, slap another engine in and sort the sus out if it needs and you have a trophy for 4k or something. Chances are it wont need either.
Just giving it a good dab of throttle to match the revs as you change down helps loads going 3rd to 2nd. Agree about going into 1st though, it's pants for that.
