If you wanted to get a flat wheel, you can buy steering wheel spacers to bring the wheel closer to you. Or add a quick release, but stick with a decent brand and not a cheap eBay one.

What made you consider it? What's so good about the type r? Because it's standard and on high mileage, I can't see the appeal to swap with your low mileage, modified one? Unless he's offering extra dough for yours on top, but still....

For a standard civic type r? I'm presuming ep3? If so, then no.
