Sure thing bud, he didn't give reasons no but I don't give up after 1 call :). Im going to give a mate a shout at the council tomorrow who I worked with a few summers ago. Helped out doing activity days and the opening of the skatepark there a few years ago, he works in events for the beach...
I spoke to the council today regarding the overflow and the department I got put through to said it wouldn't be opened on the day. He did however give me a name to email about getting it opened in future if we are going to have a large attendance.
I can't think of anything worse than contacting the paper tbh! I see no benefits or good things which will out weigh the negative that will come of it.
The Sundial was quite busy this Sunday when I was down there at 1ish, the carpark up the grotto is usually quieter if the overflow isn't open- which it wasn't on Sunday gone. 10+ Clios will be sweet parked up down the front but I'd expect some attention from the law, so for those who are...
Lesson 1 is something I learned years ago after having my fiesta cammed at a reputable and well renowned garage, and it having issues due to them retensioning belts instead of fitting new.
Lesson 2 turned out to be never go to that garage again, and ask owners of that marque car the best place...
I understand that thank you, just took exception to the condescending undertones in his post and yours to be honest. Fred is as "tech" as anyone, he gave a blunt answer but it was humourous unlike the post above.
No biggy- got the answer i was after thanks :)
I'm glad it amuses you oh great one, I'm sure youve needed to check obvious things before to. Cars only done 3k since it's last change, which is why i thought it was worth checking :)
Are the belts a necessary job? My Cup has done 75k and I'm most likely selling it this year, but I wanted to replace the Dephaser pulley before it goes so it doesn't sound like a tractor when idling :)
Just wondering if it would be best for the car and the sale if the belts were changed at...
I swapped a perfectly good car for a dog in the past but also swapped one where my car which I got rid of spunked it's head gasket on the way home for the lad. Strangely he didnt want anything back and had no problem with it :) I think he must have been driving it like a divvy.
It can go both...
Im against getting a SC kit now, the Clios staying NA and I'm going to get something nice to drive on my days off :)
I think had I went through with it I'd of loved it still.
I've pulled up outside of a bike shop in newcastle in a loading bay to drop my bike off and got a ticket before I got back to it, literally 5 minutes and i got screwed how I got away with this I don't know!
Funniest thing is there was a police van parked in the hatched/crossed bay beside it...
Gotta declare the mods mate, if you want a bit noise then drill some big holes in the underside of your airbox- it will sound a bit like an induction kit.
Don't bother with the back box.
I've thought about it a lot, if that's your car it's stunning mate! That to me is exactly what I'd want from a 197, just not sure if the goodies/beauty of it balance out the cost well enough for me :)
Damn right! My fiesta was a hedge magnet and that wasn't as powerful as a Supercharged Clio, after the LSD was fitted (all Racing Puma lumps don't come with them, only a limited run) it transformed the way the car handled- especially on the entrance/exit to corners.
Apparently so anyways
Dirty scruffy car, but couldn't resist taking a photo when I realised where I had been parked for 2 hours lol... Very lucky not to get clamped/ a ticket, one for the photo album though!
How is there SC kit rated/ thought of though? Is that not where some of the horror stories come from? Having seen an ST Supercharger conversion from Jamsport up close I'm nothing but impressed, the car in question was a stage 2.5 with 320bhp- BEAST just about covers it!
Factory fitted LSD is a good attribute, my fiesta was useless without the FRP LSD- so that's definately a plus point for the R26! Went and had a poke around a LY R26 at the local Renault Stealership, side by side with a RS Megane 225 Cup (I think) in red which had a few mods it looked like the...
Anyone in the north of England with a charged Clio? I'm gonna give Jamsport a ring on Monday, see what facts they can add which can add to the argument.
A Racing Puma engined mk5 Fiesta, full cage, coilovers etc. It was pushing out 160+ BHP and was sooooo much fun to drive and fitted the bill perfectly. Should never have sold it! A SC 172 Cup would be just as special, Jamsport are the tuners I had in mind having seen their work on a couple of...
I agree in part on spending money on the 172 would be a regret, but my favourite car I've owned I spent loads on and made it exactly wanted and then sold it because of getting points and it being a marked car :(. Charged my Clio would be an animal, I need to get into one for a test ride...
Just browsing PH gathering more megane research- am I daft for liking the look of a 225 (or 225 cup) which I can spend some ££££s on more than an R26! I'm failing to see many things other than the age which make it a better idea... What am i missing?
Super/turbo charged ones to? What was the power output of the ones youve experienced ish? They are very nimble normally with smooth power delivery when NA, if it was supercharged i imagine it would remain similar but a bit more oomph? A turbo would be fun but I'm unsure if that's very common...
This is a very realistic possibility as I do enjoy driving the Cup every day- it's got enough go and enough show to satisfy me. I'm yet to drive or have much experience with a charged mx5 but have read and seen nothing but good things about them, when they are prepped properly they look and go...
