CLIO IV RS - Trophy from page 111

looks like a good runabout, I prefer small turbo petrols to diesels, I don't do massive miles anyway, I wouldn't pay anything near that for one. im sure when I bought my GT DCi mk3 with every option bar sat nav ticked it cost me just under £15k, this is 5k more expensive!!

CLIO IV RS - Trophy from page 111

I fancied a GT 120 TCE for running about in but by the time you add heated leather and climate control its just under 20k! no thanks!!

Paint peeling - Renault won't sort it....

my 200 had started to do this very slightly not as bad as yours, i had it from new until it was 10 months old, there was various other paint defects such as runs on the bottom of the passengers wing etc. i had enough bother with it mechanically to even attempt to get the paint work sorted, hence...

Replacement/upgraded suspension - which is best?!?!

you could always go for eibach prolines which are much the same ride height as standard but with the extra stiffness of the sportlines, not many people use them though as the sportlines offer a nice drop but not enough to cause any issues. ive just fitted to my 172... 172 cup front dampers 182...

    Broken Eibach Sportline

someone had this a few years back on here and eibach put it right for them!

Knocking sound from drivers side front wheel

were the wheels straight? if so sounds like possibly the assembly nut on top of the strut that holds the bearing etc in place is loose, should be able to do it I think without removing the strut just remove the top nut under the bonnet and see if you can tighten it, never tried it that way though

non RS and RS bump stops - the same?

anyone got both side by side that they can compare? its the fronts btw!

    slight knocking when pulling away

ive got this too, im running brand new engine mounts, bottom arms, track rods, track rod ends, dampers, top mounts, exhaust mounts lol the full lot, assumed it must be a driveshaft and I needed 2 gaitors anyway so I just replaced both shafts and still doing it, ive went over everything 10x and...

I think my hand break cable has snapped

few years since ive done it but from memory its either a 10 or 13mm on the adjuster under the car above the heatshield, ive never done it on a 182 so not sure if you need to drop the exhaust and move the heatshield etc, from memory on a 172 dropping the rear and middle exhaust mount gave a bit...

I think my hand break cable has snapped

it connects the same way a clutch cable or bonnet release cable etc connects, you will see on the inside of the callipers there is an arm that comes out that activates the handbrake, the cable goes through this.
  25. Martin_172

I think my hand break cable has snapped

ive done it the way I described on a car running sportlines im sure! anyway axel stands gives better access was just a tip to save you a bit of time lol!! yeah it snaps at the bit it goes thru the rear calliper usually!
  26. Martin_172

I think my hand break cable has snapped

if your running standard suspension you can do it with 2 wheels on the kerb and 2 wheels on the road, lying under the car, first time you do it can be fiddly, after that its easy! sure theres a guide on here somewhere as danny said, replace both as the other one is always a few weeks away lol

    Renaultsport 197/200 Official Sales Figures

I remember them saying that they dropped Xenons on the 200 due to them not being very popular, if im reading that right nearly 25% of 197's were specced with them, id have thought that was reasonably popular?!
  28. Martin_172

Clutch on way out? Or garage trying to rip me off?

mine is mega heavy but also very creaky, got a new clutch cable to fit first and see how that goes
