Since all the phase 1's seem to be surfacing thought I'd do quick update on my old shed.
Currently laid up as mot I think has just expired. Also kicking myself as regular run up to temp other week resulted in me noticing the driver footwell being about 2" deep in water. Usual scuttle drain...
Nice, looking forward to seeing progress on this, as old Tarby mentions, may give me motivation tinker with mine.
Sills look just on cusp of salvage so good save, wire brush back what you can, hydrate 80 and wayoyl (I used hammerite mix underseal one) over it once dry. Few coats of each
Hunting could be idle valve needing clean, common issue.
Oil level is fine that's what it is supposed to do, no point reading level when all the oil has been pumped up into the engine.
Fan usually it's plug to blower in scuttle that melts, so check that
Door issues if its both window and...
nice purchase, I still regret all 3 of mine slipping through my fingers over the years. still have 2 mk1's but no Williams' anymore
great outlook for the project too, far too many of these being locked away these days, to see one about to be sympathetically restored to useable condtion with a...
yep that's got a whiteline on already. just take it off and clean it up imo
do love an RB, not that I am biased at all ;-)
how lumpy is the lumpy idle, as they do tend to suffer from it...but usually an RS Tuner map sort it. if its almost missing then its more than likely a faulty injector...
I don't rate the NS2R's either, much prefer the PS3's on a day to day basis on a road based car. cracking all round performer and can pickup the ex ginetta ones on ebay for around 100 quid a set of 4. no brainer imo.
car however is as ever putting my heap to shame, I must try harder! lol!
I just filled the linkage with lead shot, rattle isn't intrusive anymore under 50mph so daily a road commute at 40 it's fine. Motorway I just lightly rest my knee on it and then when opportunity arises for the b Road blast it's so so worth it.
I adore mine, but I like the cold, 4 degrees out again today and that's still t shirt weather. Over 10 and I have climate set to min.
Even have it on on track, flol
takes seconds to jack up car and remove sump plug, under tray stays on as theres a cap on is specifically for that.
for piece of mind I'll stick to what I know
I'm forever on the fence with it, hence I like to run the stock over winter to get my standard fix
then come summer, chop and change between the Turini's, the Williams and the Superleggera
