isn't yours a bit tinkered with however young sir ;)
in the ongoing saga I didn't reset the trip as yet and the car took a pasting up into the peak for climbing last night, so i'm back down at a lowly 41.8 again! :)
I do agree, mine runs and drives lovely but the delivery is a little.....interesting shall we say, all or nothing pretty much, the engine is capable of so much more so I would like stand alone to exploit that fact, especially now i'm getting into track more and more, it was all well and good for...
nail and head, this is the evolution, its happening right now and your all invited ;)
i'm talking about my mk1 el chippio, 16psi turbo F7P @ 280 odd bhp on a dodgy fastchip map ;)
I dare not add mine up tbh, and that's only the stuff accounted for, I buy a lot of used parts through forums with no paperwork, and I've been through 12 gearboxes I think now at an average of probably about 100 quid a pop
I have a folder full, but stuff that's just receipts gets bunged in there, probably loosely in date order as I just add new stuff to the top but its not organised as such.
I do keep tax/mot and insurance docs in separate plastic wallet though for ease of access
if the legislation was passed and enforced i'd love to see how much compensation the tuning and modification suppliers would be asking for for lost business.................
i find the manual very manageable at speed, however mine hasnt got any worn bush issues so if it does step out its very smooth and easy to catch
its just the lack of sensitivity to input that does my head in a bit, need to turn the wheel a bit to feel any lock as it where. turn less lock to...
I've crept upto 42.0 now and still rising as I settle into the new communte to work in last 500 miles, overall average is over last 2k hence the slow creep up :) may reset soon and just see what I get now average.
certainly have fella, all nicely settled pretty much now! space to store wheels and drive to work on the car.........heavenly! pop up for a cuppa if you like at some point :)
the other issue with slicks and clios is the JC5 boxes are a tad useless
having said that Rob over on RTOC uses a JC5 still on his 502bhp F7P turbo powered Renault 5 with full drag slicks and that laid a 10.6 second 1/4 mile last season and stood a good few launches and it still going now, so I...
car looks good, love a bit of low and wide action, all about the poke and dish :)
however, the laguna splitter looks...........how to put politely.......gash? ;)
ai, not as badly as mk1 clios, but my x plate has surface bubbles, check the sills also as if its been unsympathetically jacked over the years it can lead to rot on the jacking points and wherever some inconsiderate dote has jacked it.
watch for clunky or leaky gearboxes as well, get the revs...
tom, as said I don't take it that seriously so no slicks, I just let the R888's down that I drove there on!lol! best pass was last summer, 12.3@117mph with a 2.06 60ft and about 95mph on the 1/8 mile
maudy, mines a turbo'd 1.8 16v mk 1 clio (F7P engine) running 260 odd bhp according to last...
cracking litte project this! car looked a mess at combe from that vid, glad you tracked the issue down! that bush is a common one on the mk1's and can be a bugger to trace, most people blame the universal joint on the column but this can be the real issue.
I got round it ever happening again...
if the original hole could be left open = adjustable for road or track use perhaps. interesting. quite like the idea to be able to run loads of castor or none! bodgetastic solution to a nice little problem, good work sir!
I've been mulling over the same question, I think the cup appeals to me for the poverty spec of it, just something a bit different
however, I really fancy climate control/xenons/fogs etc etc so I'm starting to lean to a FF in RB if I can find a good one, but then the price goes up, and I have...
I love pod! going for the performance day 2nd September hopefully, first time on the new build :) if I can get close to the low 12's again i'll be a happy chappy.
as people have said, if you not to bothered about taking it mega serious, like I am, then some R888's dropped to 10psi or so and...
i'm looking at the market at the minute and although theres loads for sale, good ones are hard-ish to come by and thats a stunning example despite the costs incoming, i'd say 3-3.5 would be a fair price.
