    i love all the wee technical improvements, shorter ratios, 3bhp more 150rpm lower and 20% more low down torque! that should drive pretty well!

    i bought my 2001 51 plate for £1800 dci 65! give it a good service mate they like regular oil changes, i did mine every 5k on mine. use genuine oil filters. change the glowplugs and air filter (i used a K&N for the sake of being able to wash it and refit) imo they dont run well on vpower...

    1.2 8v MPG, what do you get, im getting 40mpg

    the 1.2s are terrible for fuel economy imo, dont understand why people buy them over a dci model drive so much better too. our driving school one averages 42mpg around town with learners! my mrs gets not far from that around town in my 172! dci would be getting mid 60's at least!

    my mate swears by them on his evo. greenstuffs fine for fast road use, mine have no problem scrubbing off speed from 145+ never tried them on track though!

    only thing you can save when doing the 1.6 conversion over the 2.0 conversion is changing the front brakes, 1.6 uses the same brakes as the 1.2 16v. you still need to change engine, box, steering rack, ecu, uch etc its a pain in the arse and id rather spend the extra couple hundred quid on the...

    cambelts just gone in our 1.5yr old 1.2 16v mk3 clio, its in at renault at the moment (lease company sorting it out, car doesnt belong to us) do renault strip them down and replace the valves etc or do they just change the full engine? (typical renault thing to do lol)

    100% standard cars

    i love my car with mods, ive got a good power gain, better brakes and handling BUT the one thing i will say is i cant wait till my mrs gets her 182 so ive got a standard one that still looks good, goes very well and handles well but without the noise of the exhaust

    nope you wont need one, the flexi is there to stop the exhaust being pulled about when the engine moves on its mounts, so when you fit your new decat your standard cat back exhaust will still have a flexi on it to take the movement

    apex are fine with shocks too, on standard shocks they are a bit bouncy and crashy but look the tits, you can only pull them off properly on a dci though, looked too high at the front on my 1.2 16v back in the day

    STEERING IS VERY TWITCHY

    my 172 was all over the road. play in steering etc so i decided to rebuild the bloddy front end. changed.... track rod ends bottom arms dampers and tyres didnt get any better then found out you could replace the inner track rods and it was sorted!! i thought u had to replace the full rack!
